Germantown, MD - October 16, 1996 - Empire Interactive announces its agreement with Art Data Interactive to exclusively distribute Chess Wars. Chess Wars is a medieval fantasy that uses the best in full motion video, next generation 3-D animation, graphics and sound to produce the finest multimedia chess game ever. Chess Wars will be available in late October, 1996 for PC CD-ROM. A Macintosh version is scheduled to follow shortly thereafter.

This 2 CD set features full motion video battle scenes, stunning 3-D animated pieces in SVGA, multiple chess boards, 16 bit sound, music and digital speech. In addition, a multimedia tutorial presented by a captivating full motion video Merlin makes learning chess fun and easy. Chess Wars will also include selectable player difficulty settings and thousands of opening gambits, master games and player styles.

Art Data Interactive is offering a $10.00 competitive rebate on Chess Wars and is organizing a chess tournament which will visit retail outlets across the United States. Local winners will compete in Las Vegas against Chess Wars at its hardest setting level for a $50,000 grand prize.
